Textiles shape human existence; they are pioneers of industrial design, key drivers in the development of modern art, they reflect current issues of environment and sustainability, and are future guarantors of innovation in spatial design and architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Neue Sammlung has a significant collection of textiles and fabrics ranging from the mid-19th century to the present day. They showcase the development of industrial and artisanal textile production, as well as how this field blurs the boundaries between art and design. The connection between material and aesthetics can be particularly explored in textiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry \u2013 Craft \u2013 Art \u2013 Design: These are the interwoven elements of textiles that are addressed in the exhibition. The exhibition presents a focused cross-section of the rich collection of the museum and connects it with contemporary positions in art and design. A look into the future reveals the development of innovative fabrics that hold significant importance in terms of social design and sustainability, considering resources, manufacturing processes, and recycling. Additionally, weaving into the third dimension emphasizes the visionary potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
